Giving is like a good mood patch – Me

I love giving presents so much that I even enjoy thinking about giving presents. Lately, I catch myself day-dreaming about little gifts for my hubster, should we be so lucky to conceive again.

On my journey to my little big miracle, thinking positively about my future, helps me stay in a happy-go-lucky-mode. I thought I’d share the ten little presents that have crossed my mind or I have seen on the internet with you.

Without further ado, here are my favourite nine:

1. The I’m “oh so cool” daddy T-shirt
An oldie but a goodie. I can definitely see myself buying a daddy T-shirt for my hubster. There are tons of T-shirts out there, and most of them can even be personalized. My three favorites are without a doubt the daddy since …, the man behind the bump, and real men change diapers T-shirts.

2. The “I need coffee” daddy mug
My  hubster loves his coffee, probably a tad too much. But, once he becomes a dad, he may need an extra cuppa, so why not lend him a hand and already get him the perfect mug? I particularly like this cup.

3. The daddy doodie bag
My hubster likes to think he is very fashionable, but the truth is, us ladies clean up our men pretty good. My man is a typical man’s man, and I’m sure he’ll cherish a true man’s diaper bag. Diaper dude has some good ones, and as you guessed it, I do have a favorite and this is the one.

4. The “whoohoo I’m becoming a daddy” book
My huster is a huge Big Lebowski fan, so there really is only one book on men and pregnancy he will truly treasure,  From Dude to Dad: The Diaper Dude Guide to Pregnancy. I already bought it for him when I found out I was pregnant, but unfortunately never got a chance to give it to him. I’m keeping it hidden away and hope to be able to break it out soon.

 5. Dad’s favorite child’s book
My in-laws used to read stories to my hubster all the time when he was still a little boy. He talks about it fondly, so it feels like a good idea to buy him his old favourite child’s book. I always write dedications and notes to people I buy books for and so his note will probably read: Now it’s your turn. Have fun!

6. New daddy’s survival kit
Close friends recently had a baby, and I thought this would be a fun present for the new dad. We ended up buying something else, but the idea still sounds like so much fun. For my hubster, I’ll probably want to create my own personalized version of this gift.

I was thinking in the line of, energy shots, some ear plugs, some anti-aging man cream, extra diapers accompanied by goggles, a peg for his nose and rubber gloves, aspirin and coupons for “one night of dreamy sleep”, “one pass on a baby bath”, “one free pass on ‘nappie’ time”, not too many coupons of course, I don’t want to shoot myself in the foot 😛

7. A new camera
We are in need of a new decent camera, and what better time to buy one then when you have a newborn? I know my hubster will love capturing all the new moments and having pictures to complement the new joyous memories.

8. Box of LEGO
Boy or Girl, my hubster cannot wait to get started with the LEGO’s. All I need to do to conjure a smile on his face is: buy a box of LEGO’s. What a way to kill two birds with one stone, happy hubster, happy baby.

9. Crate of daddy beer
My husband likes hanging out with his friends while watching football with a beer. He’ll certainly appreciate his own manly daddy crate. This onemeeting of the father’s support group is quite cute.  Any beer coming from this crate, must taste even better!

Did you get anything for you partner?
